Wings promotional Neon sign
A custom Wings neon sign was sent to record stores by Capitol Records in 1976 to promote the album Wings Over America. It was manufactured in the U.S.A. for Capitol by Neo-Art, Inc. of Van Nuys, California. Some issues have a sticker on the front with the Capitol logo. Approximate size is 17" x 19".
In the late 1980s and early 1990s the signs were valued at $300-$400.00. In the early 2000s one was sold for almost $1,000.00, and a few years later a near-perfect one with the original box and packing sold on Ebay for $1,800.00. In mid 2019 an Ebay sale of an almost near mint sign without the original box brought $850.00. The much scarcer version with the Capitol logo (see image below) was sold by Julien's auction house in May of 2008 for $3,750.
